At the age of 19, he established his first company – gardening and landscape planning – in what would mark the beginning of a professional path defined by perseverance and success. Self-taught and entrepreneur, two years later, he started his way in the real estate business, when he founded MEL Lda, where he established himself and grew over the last few years.

Until today, MEL has dozens of projects completed and commercialized (especially in the area of ​​rehabilitation of old buildings) in just over 20 years of activity.

In 2010, he founded, as the majority shareholder, MBD, Lda, which would become The Independente Collective – an alternative Hotel and Restaurant Group, owner of the famous restaurants The Decadente, The Insólito and The George (in Vila Nova de Gaia). The Independente Collective group manages more than 300 beds in Hostels as The Independente and The House of Sandeman.

In 2015, he moved to Tavira with his family, founded BD Real Estate Investments and developed another urban rehabilitation project in one of the best-known Palacetes in what is now a charming hotel (O Colégio). In 2019, he starts the project Siesta, a building with 14 apartments, that was concluded in 2022.

It has several projects successfully developed over its 20 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation and real estate development.
